Volkov-Lannit L.F. I see Mayakovsky. Photonovelas. M. Art. 1981 280 p., with illustrations. Hardcover, enlarged format.
In the summer of 1981, Leonid Filippovich Volkov-Lannit published the book I See Mayakovsky. It contains more than one and a half hundred (!!!!!) photographs of the poet (one and in groups) with stories about each photograph. Volkov-Lannit was familiar with Mayakovsky, published articles and essays in the journal Novy Lef, and even lengthened his surname, so to speak, at the suggestion of Mayakovsky. Leonid Volkov in verse even preferred the elegant old “cheeks” to his “cheeks”. Mayakovsky played on these Volkovsky “lanites”, which he considered out of place in verses about modernity, in a caustic epigram. Leonid Filippovich assured that he only remembered the rhyme, but forgot the epigram itself. Maybe he just didn't want to reveal it. But the word "lanit" from this epigram, having doubled the middle consonant, attached it to the surname and became Volkov-Lannit. Before taking on a book about Mayakovsky, Volkov-Lannit published the books V.I. “History is written with a lens” (1971, 1980), “Alexander Rodchenko draws, photographs, argues” (1968). Viktor Shklovsky wrote in a book review: “I am grateful to the already elderly, very hardworking, knowledgeable person Volkov-Lannit, that he collected, told and explained, collected how flowers are harvested, collected photographs and brought us closer to understanding Mayakovsky.” The book is full of little-known facts, combined with an abundance of photographs, some of which are published for the first time. In addition, the book tells about the people who shot the poet, and how certain photographs appeared.
The condition of the book is solidly good, there are a few inconspicuous spots on the cover, the block is slightly loose.
