Savva Mamontov entered the history of Russian art as a philanthropist and patron of artists and artists. In the Abramtsevo art circle, created in the Abramtsevo estate near Moscow, which belonged to Mamontov, such painters as Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin, Viktor Vasnetsov and others managed to reveal themselves. Mamontov founded the Moscow Private Russian Opera. With his active support, a wide audience was able to get acquainted with the performing skills of Fyodor Chaliapin, who was the soloist of this theater in the second half of the 1890s. Since 1899, Mamontov, together with Princess Maria Tenisheva, financed the magazine "World of Art".

The book is in excellent condition, but the edges of the spine are slightly worn and there is a small ex-libris on the title.
