Wallace Richard Horatio Edgar (1875–1932) - English writer, screenwriter and playwright, journalist, war correspondent. He wrote 175 short stories, 24 plays and a huge number of articles for periodicals. The founder of the literary genre "thriller". More than 160 films have been created based on his works. He worked as a correspondent for Reuters and the London Daily Mail. He died in Hollywood while working on the script for the film “King Kong.”
