Be faithful until death: The fate of Orthodoxy in the Ottoman Empire in the XV-XX centuries: Collection. Comp. monk Andrey (Shestakov), A. Nikiforova. M.: Sretensky Monastery Publishing House, 2005, 269 pp., hardcover, enlarged format.

In the second half of the 15th century, a number of Orthodox states and peoples in Asia Minor and the Balkans were finally conquered by the Turks. The initially rather tolerant policy of the conquerors towards the Christian population of the empire eventually turned into severe bondage. The book presented to the reader's attention contains historical and hagiographic texts telling about the life and exploits of Christians in the lands of the Ottoman Empire (Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, Crete, Pontus, Asia Minor, Cyprus, Serbia, Bulgaria), about the real destinies of people during the years of Turkish rule (XV-XIX centuries) and after liberation (XX century). Most of the texts are published in Russian for the first time. The compilers tried to provide the book with the necessary explanations and comments, as well as a dictionary of specific concepts. With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Rus'.
