"The Gutenberg Galaxy" is a legendary work by the Canadian literary critic, sociologist and culturologist, the famous "prophet from Toronto", the famed herald of the electronic era, whose metaphors entered the everyday language, becoming an element of the classification of the world - G. M. McLuhan. In it, he, resorting to a mosaic, cross-band approach to modern civilization, argues that the decisive factor in the process of formation of a particular socio-economic system, and, in fact, the engine of historical progress, is the change of technology, which entails a change in the mode of communication. McLuhan is convinced of that the creation of new technical means available to society is revolutionary.
