The reasons for the catastrophe of Russian statehood in 1917 are complex and multifaceted. But at the same time, there was an obvious historical algorithm for the evolution of the Russian state and society, which made the catastrophe inevitable. It represented a long historical formation of the autocracy and estate system in Russia (XV - first half of the XIX century), and then their rapid decomposition and collapse (second half of the XIX - early XX century). The book shows that the emergency nature of the catastrophe of 1917 was that the defeat in the world war led to the collapse of traditional Russia as an empire and the emergence on its territory after the seizure of power by the Bolsheviks of the communist global project.
