The name of Alexander Mikhailovich Rodchenko, one of those masters who actively participated in the construction of young Soviet art, has not yet been fully appreciated. He belonged to that galaxy of artists who, in the initial period of our culture, with all the enthusiasm of youth and the passion of revolutionaries, sought - to the best of their understanding and skill - to lay the foundations of socialist artistic culture. Rodchenko's creative work was diverse: a designer and one of the founders of the school of artistic design, a book artist, a pioneer in the art of photomontage, a master of propaganda art (including advertising, which he worked with Mayakovsky, under the NEP, propaganda of state trade was propaganda art) and, last but not least , a photographer who brought this type of art out of the swamp of slavish imitation of the epigones of painting.
