The book includes the novel "Itamar K." and the stories "Mother", "Witch", "Why is it hot in summer and cold in winter?", "Concert". The exciting action of the novel 'Itamar K.' (1998) takes place in today's Israel. An unexpected combination of grotesque and realism, vividly reminiscent of Kafka, is the author's main vehicle for portraying the clash between a young independent screenwriter and the intellectual establishment that reigns supreme in Israeli art. The novel is preceded by four stories from the collection 'Rescuers', the characters of which are children. With gentle irony in the spirit of Sholom Aleichem, Ido Netanyahu presents the reader with four different characters, creating a generalized image of the 'anti-hero', from which Itamar, the protagonist of the novel, seems to grow. Ido Netanyahu, a radiologist, writer and publicist, the younger brother of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, gained fame a few years ago with the documentary book Yoni's Last Stand, which tells the story of his second older brother, Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan Netanyahu, who died in the course of his famous hostage rescue operations in Entebbe.
