"Anna-Maria" is a novel inscribed in the true story of its time. The author hopes to convey to the Soviet reader both the novel and the true story, the reality of the novel and the romance were: our fantastic reality. The characters in this novel and their fates are fictitious. The atmosphere, situation, life in France in 1936-1946 and in occupied Germany in 1945 are not fictional. The author emphasizes the interweaving of fiction and were, so that he would not be reproached for unbridled fantasy. Pre-war Paris, the times of the Spanish Civil War... A lightning-fast "strange war", as it was then called, and a strange liberation, where the victors soon began to resemble the vanquished... Fortresses, castles, secret passages, garages, haylofts full of weapons, conspiring generals, "armed ghosts" roaming the country - all this fantasy really existed. And it still exists today: military conspiracies, murders, terror ... The "armed ghosts" of our time, the children and grandchildren of those that we knew before and during the war: all the same against all the same ... After all, there is no complete victory, as there is no victory once and for all. "Liberation" must be protected so that it does not have to be won again and again.
