Nikolai Aleksandrovich Berdyaev is the largest Russian philosopher of the first half of the 20th century, the author of the works “Self-Knowledge”, “The Worldview of Dostoevsky”, “The Meaning of Creativity”, “Philosophy of the Free Spirit”, “Eros and Personality”.

In the work “The Russian Idea”, presented to the attention of readers in this edition, the philosopher explores “Russianness”, the mysterious substance of the “Russian soul”. Berdyaev's reflections cover historical events from the Baptism of Rus' to the October Revolution, inextricably linked with the activities of Avvakum, Peter I, Chaadaev, Dostoevsky, Solovyov, Lenin.

The work "Dostoevsky's World Outlook" is less known to the general public, but thematically it is related to the "Russian Idea", since in it the author touches on issues of the spiritual life of Russia.
