Aza Alibekovna Taho-Godi’s book is dedicated to the remarkable thinker of our century, Alexei Fedorovich Losev.

It is based on the personal memories of the author, a witness and participant in the events of decades, as well as materials from the unique Losevo archive. Losev appears in the book not only as an outstanding philosopher, but also as an Orthodox man who shared its fate with the Motherland.

Losev’s path is characteristic: religious and philosophical societies meeting with Fr. P. Florensky, Fr. S. Bulgakov, I. A. Ilyin and other major philosophers of the Silver Age published dangerous books in the 20s that led him to a prison camp, blindness, forced twenty years of silence, the death of his home.

Next to him in the most difficult years was an extraordinary woman, Valentina Mikhailovna Loseva. Faith and love helped the philosopher, in his words, “exiled to the 20th century,” to live, think and create.

The second edition of the book has been significantly improved by the author.
