Andrei Aldan-Semyonov's novel "Red and White" is a story about intense events in the East - in the Volga region, the Urals and Siberia - in 1918-1919. At the center of the story is the defeat of the troops of the “Omsk dictator” Admiral Kolchak by the Red Army. Using extensive documentary material, the author recreates the picture of the armed struggle of the Red Army against the White Guards and Kolchakism, exposes the corruption of the admiral clique, its servant role among the Entente imperialists, as well as the Entente’s plans for the economic enslavement of Russia. The reader will find in the book impressive portraits of the heroes of the civil war - the young commander Tukhachevsky , the legendary division commander Azin, many other red commanders and commissars.
