The stories of Vasily Lebedev, a Leningrad prose writer who tragically and unfairly died early, have never been published before. For readers, their subject matter will be unusual, until recently “closed” and little explored in prose. The stories, one of which, “The Golden Fleece” (about a trip to Greece), have not yet been published, and the other two, “The Clash” (about the confrontation of characters and leadership styles) and “Life to Live” (dedicated to the fate of a participant in the Kronstadt rebellion), have a well-deserved popularity, have not lost their sharpness even today. Vasily Lebedev is known as the author of historical novels "Morning of Muscovy", "Doomed Will", "Redemption", and many books for children. His prose attracts with its subtle observation, emotionality, and refined style.
