Academician Alexey Nikolaevich Krylov, the founder of the modern ship theory, was a scientist of an encyclopedic mindset. He owns original works on various issues of mathematics, physics and astronomy; he is the author of many inventions and a number of beautifully written educational courses on ship theory, theoretical mechanics, differential and integral calculus, etc.
