Иеротопия Огня и Света в культуре византийского мира (L)

The collection of articles, for the first time in world science, is devoted to the problems of fire and light as the most important means in the creation of sacred spaces. The focus is on the Byzantine and Old Russian tradition, examined against a broad historical and geographical background, which alone allows us to appreciate the originality of the Eastern Christian culture of fire and light. Such a phenomenon cannot be described within the framework of traditional science alone, therefore historians, art historians, philologists, philosophers, liturgists, and linguists are involved in its consideration. At the same time, we are talking about a special type of artistic creativity, which, in our opinion, can be adequately understood only in the context of hierotopy - a new section of cultural history that studies the world practice of creating sacred spaces.
