This book is about Leopold Antonovich Sulerzhitsky (1872-1916) - a public and theatrical figure, director, who is better known as an assistant to KS Stanislavsky in teaching and popularizing his system. He was close with L.N. Tolstoy, A.P. Chekhov, M. Gorky, with many actors and theater workers. Having no theatrical education, "Suler", as everyone called him, gave his life to the theater, carrying out the discoveries of Stanislavsky and correlating them with the capabilities of the actors and each performance. He is one of the organizers and leaders of the 1st Studio of the Moscow Art Theatre. The publication is intended for a wide range of readers interested in the history of the theater.
