Edward Luttwak is a well-known specialist in military strategy and geopolitics. He worked as a consultant to the National Security Council and the US State Department, was an adviser to President Ronald Reagan. The creator of geoeconomics is a section of geopolitics that studies the economic situation in various countries in order to increase the influence of the state from the standpoint of its economic power and ensure the achievement of foreign policy goals, world or regional power by economic means. The book "Strategy: The Logic of War and Peace" talks about the "paradoxical" logic that underlies strategic thinking. Four levels of strategy are discussed: technique, tactics, operational art, theater strategy, and grand strategy. The author analyzes a new type of war - "post-heroic wars", generated by the fear of losses and the desire to avoid them at any cost.
