For a quarter of a century, Mikhail Gorbachev's activity has been associated with work in the environmental organization Green Cross International, which he founded in 1993. Currently, environmental disasters, poverty and social inequality, military conflicts have become global world problems, the solution of which becomes impossible without the combined efforts of all countries and nations of the world. In his book, Mikhail Gorbachev, a man who radically influenced the fate of Russia and Europe, convinces of the need to create a sustainable global community based on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice and a culture of peace. In addition to the UN Declaration of Human Rights, Gorbachev proposes his "Earth Manifesto" based on four key principles: respect and care for the community of life on Earth; ecological integrity; social and economic justice; democracy, non-violence, and Peace.
