1944 went down in the history of the Patriotic War as "the year of decisive victories". It's always nice to remember victories. Therefore, they told, wrote, filmed willingly and a lot about the campaign of 1944: about the genius of the Soviet commanders, about brilliant operations, about the heroism of the Red Army, alone saving Europe, about the perfidy of the allies, who put spokes in the wheels, about the peoples, who joyfully welcomed the liberators.< br /> This is one front side of the coin, which is exposed for public viewing and education of the younger generations. Such a story is reminiscent of a sweet-voiced castrato singer.

There was another side. It depicts incompetent generals, failed operations, invaluable help from the allies, the Russian Liberation Army, traitor peoples and peoples who shot the “liberators” in the back, communist totalitarianism that replaced Nazi totalitarianism. Although there are many more lessons to be learned here, it is considered "unpatriotic" to write about it, even after abandoning the Soviet system and destroying the USSR with one's own hands.
