You are holding an anthology for students of the 2nd grade of the children's music school. Compiling this collection is caused by the need to have at hand, in one textbook, a sufficient amount of musical and pedagogical material for teaching a child to play the piano throughout the year. The collection includes works from many previously published textbooks that allow solving the problems of this period of study. In accordance with the program requirements of the Children's Music School and Children's Art School, the reader included works representing the following sections: polyphony, large form, pieces, etudes and ensembles. Despite the fact that the collection does not use pieces from Anna Magdalena Bach's Music Notebook, P. Tchaikovsky's Children's Album, etudes by C. Czerny and A. Lemoine, as well as other well-known and undoubtedly necessary works, the presented the artistic and instructive material is quite wide and allows you to choose the required number of works to work with a 2nd grade student, taking into account his personality. The material has a clear division into sections, within which it is built according to the degree of complexity. The entire selection and systematization of works was a reflection of well-known pedagogical principles and equally the result of many years of experience working with children of the authors-compilers.
