You are holding in your hands an anthology of the pedagogical repertoire for students of the 1st grade of the children's music school. The compilation of this collection is due to the need to have at hand, in one textbook, a sufficient amount of musical and pedagogical material for teaching a child to play the piano throughout the year. The collection includes pieces from many previously published teaching aids that allow solving the problems of this period of study. In accordance with the program requirements of the Children's Music School and Children's Art School, the reader included works representing the following sections: polyphony, large form, pieces, etudes and ensembles. Extensive artistic and instructional material allows you to choose a sufficient number of plays to acquire and consolidate knowledge and skills, taking into account the individual capabilities of the student. Due to the peculiarities of the initial period of training, the material is not divided into sections, but is presented according to the principle of gradual complication. The entire selection and systematization of works was a reflection of well-known pedagogical principles and equally the result of many years of experience in working with children of the authors-compilers.
