The book is autobiographical and tells about the author's military service in aviation in the late 1970s. The first part of the book tells about obtaining a military specialty while studying at the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1967-1973, the second part tells about the service in 1978-1980 as a training platoon commander at the School of Junior Aviation Specialists in Dneprodzerzhinsk. The author tells about a trip for conscripts in 1980 to the hero city of Volgograd, as well as about the author's participation in the aftermath of a number of aviation accidents, including the largest in the history of Soviet civil aviation - a collision on August 11, 1979 of two Tu-134 passenger aircraft in sky over Dneprodzerzhinsk. It was a tragedy as a result of which the Pakhtakor football team died, the players flew to the game with Dynamo Minsk. We were the only large military unit in that area and we were brought in to comb the area. The book is addressed to a wide range of readers interested in the history of aviation.
