Tatiana began keeping a diary at the age of 14 and continued for almost 40 years, with 1878 to 1932. The peculiar, interesting life of the Tolstoy household was reflected in Tatyana Lvovna’s diary. The father encouraged the children to keep diaries and read the girl's entries in their early years.
