The civil war in Russia was called the great war of armored trains for a reason. All parties involved in this terrible conflict experienced a shortage of armored vehicles and, in order to increase the striking power of their troops and their ability to maneuver, built a variety of armored monsters. Armored trains took cities and became the last hope of the defenders. They could unexpectedly unleash a powerful artillery strike on the enemy, land troops or repel a surprise attack. Often it was the arrival of an armored train on the battlefield that became the last argument that decided the outcome of the battle. This book tells about the armored trains of the White armies and is made up of unique memoirs of direct participants in the events that could not be published in Soviet times.
