A new book by Andrey Kolesnikov, a special correspondent of the Kommersant newspaper, is about the 20th Winter Olympic Games in Turin-2006. "Olympic Games" is not about sports results, but about human results. The people who won and lost this Olympiad tell Andrei Kolesnikov why it happened. Some of them dedicated their medal to their son, while others, in desperation that it was not gold, tried to throw their medal into the urn. But the main thing is that at this Olympics they fought for their Motherland. Did the country win or lose this Olympics? The author is convinced that she won. This is the main difference between the Turin Olympics and all others in recent Russian history. This was our Olympics. There is only one circumstance that the author cannot reconcile and will never reconcile with: our hockey players did not reach the final.
