The polylinguistic project of the collection "The Measure of Not All Things" undoubtedly grew out of the creative workshops of the artists Vik, V. Trofimov, A. Lotsman, S. Sergeev (they created the collection group in the early 90s) and from the literary and artistic almanac "Measure of all things" (1,2,3 issue, 2003-2006). The composition and ambitions of the poetic crowd were determined in the almanac, and the infinity of unpublished manuscripts required the periodicity of publications. The word "almanacchio" in Italian means "an unfulfilled dream". Let others implement it.
It is more interesting for us to present in the book the "Babylonian mixing" of European languages with modern Russian poetry, which is unpredictably reflected in the translation, which can be both more intricate than the original, and in a caricature. But it is not a mirror; it does not flatter any of the poets. This is not an attempt to glorify Russian authors in other countries. Our publication does not claim to cover the global scope of the lyrical space. On the contrary, striving for intimacy, we were looking for the adequacy of only the poet and translator. It is impossible, and it is she who is desired. The collection does not exclude misunderstanding, errors, innuendo, lies. That is life. "Because the art of poetry requires words," and words, multiplied by two, can, having gained weight, touch someone's subcortex and mentality, slowly bring them closer to milkiness. "Your publication is on a microdistrict scale," the well-known translator V. Toporov told me. It is much smaller. It is for three - a poet, a translator and a reader.
