This book is a reprint of the original edition (Moskva Publishing House, 2000), created from a high-resolution electronic copy that has been cleaned and processed by hand, preserving the structure and spelling of the original edition. Rare, forgotten and little-known books published from the time of Peter the Great to the present day are again available in the form of printed books.

The collection "Poetry and Painting", dedicated to the memory of N.I. a specialist in the field of Russian avant-garde, compiled by the works of the best Russian and foreign scientists working in this field. The structure of the collection reflects the versatility of N.I. Khardzhiev, who combined an interest in the artistic avant-garde with a unique competence in the historical and literary field.
Following a small memorial section, the book opens with a series of articles relating to the history and theory of the artistic avant-garde, the work of Kazimir Malevich and his students. The historical and literary section includes articles devoted to Khlebnikov and Mayakovsky, to the study of whose work N.I. Khardzhiev made a huge contribution, other futurist poets, a number of literary movements and poets and writers representing them.
