Logical studies appeared at the turn of the century. Volume I - "Prolegomena to Pure Logic" - in 1900, Volume II - "Investigations in Phenomenology and Theory of Knowledge" - in 1901

Volume I was published in Russian translation in 1909 (translated by E.A. Bernshtein, edited and with a preface by S.L. Frank). This was the first translation of Husserl's work into a foreign language.

Volume II, or rather, the first part of the second volume - the first five studies - is published in this edition. The second part of Volume II - VI Research - will be released as a separate book.

If in the edition of 1901 Volume II was one book, then in the second, revised edition, Husserl singled out Study VI, to which he attached particular importance, into a separate book. In a revised form, the first part of volume II was published in 1913, the second - in 1921.

Logical research is the starting point of the phenomenological movement, one of the most important starting points of the philosophical searches of the 20th century. This work attempts to make a breakthrough "to the things themselves": to the essence of consciousness and the truth of being.

The breakthrough to the ultimate experience of thinking required the development of a descriptive method and the removal from any kind of interpretation of this experience. Turning to Logical Research at the beginning of the 21st century is a kind of return to the origins.

In the European philosophy of the past two centuries, such a return, or search for beginnings, be it the Pre-Socratics, Plato and Aristotle, or Kant and Hegel, reveals itself as an essential dimension of philosophy itself.

It is another matter how to understand this return itself - as an incantation or analysis, as imitation or dialogue, as language acquisition or a distinction between terminology and problem posing.

Not every philosophical work allows you to enter into a dialogue with it; on the contrary, great systems tend to be closed, they do not allow a language other than their own, and in their own language only their own truth is possible.

Logical research in this sense is rather an exception. In this work, the appeal to experience as a subject of research and a method of verification makes analysis possible, the reality of the problems posed - the possibility of their critical discussion, the language that is not dominated by terminology - the opportunity to discuss these problems in another language.

Volume IV: "Cartesian Meditations". The Cartesian Reflections are being published in full for the first time in Russian translation. This is a great gift to the Russian-speaking reader, who, as they say, had no luck with Husserl. From the major works of Husserl, important for the development of phenomenology.
