N. O. Lossky (1870 - 1965) - one of the greatest Russian philosophers. Before the revolution - professor at St. Petersburg University. In 1922, together with N. A. Berdyaev and other famous scientists, he was expelled from the USSR. Cut off from his homeland, Lossky never broke spiritual ties with the Fatherland. His "History of Russian Philosophy" was published in English in 1951 and immediately gained worldwide fame. The book presents original judgments about the peculiar way of development of philosophy, religion and culture in Russia. Of particular value are the pages that tell about the philosophers of the Russian diaspora.
