Being, Nothing, Truth, the impossibility of Truth, Authenticity, God... - this is the beginning of that metaphysical series, the problems of which capture the essence of the lyrical hero of the book. The pathos of Ruskin's poetry is in the desire to try "for a break", "for a break" what gives or should give us ontological, ideological rootedness and correctness.
