The full title of the book: "Handbook of drugs recommended for use in the USSR, produced by the domestic industry and purchased by import."

The handbook is a guide for practitioners and pharmacy workers. It included a list of only drugs approved for use in the USSR and produced by the domestic industry or purchased abroad. All drugs are listed in alphabetical order.

A brief annotation is given for each drug, indicating its Russian, Latin and rational chemical name or composition (if it is a complex dosage form), synonyms, application, form of release, for imported drugs - where it comes from.

At the end of the guide there are Russian thematic and Latin alphabetical indexes.
