The real name of the poet is Ivan / Jan Pleshkevich (1893-1969) fought in the First World War and the Civil War, the author of the words *March of the Alekseevsky Regiment*. In exile he lived in Bulgaria and France, studied at the St. Sergius Theological Institute, married Ivan Shmelev's niece Yu. Kutyrina. The book consists of two parts: poetry addressed to various icons of the Mother of God and the Legend of the Mother of God. The poem *Indestructible Wall* was set to music by A.A. Lebedev.
