Mikhail Egorovich Krasnozhen (1860 - ?) was born in Kaluga. In 1881 he graduated from the Kaluga gymnasium and entered Moscow University. In 1891 (or in 1892) he was approved as Privatdozent of the same university. In 1893 he defended his master's thesis: "The interpreters of the canonical code of the Eastern Church: Aristin, Zonara and Balsamon" and was appointed professor of canon law at Yuriev University. In 1889-1892. worked in European archives and libraries. Since 1893, he was an extraordinary professor at the Department of Church Law at Yuriev University, and since 1895. - tenured professor. In 1901 he defended his dissertation "Gentiles in Rus'" at Kazan University.
Member of the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1918-1919. Krasnozhen is unknown.
The book "Fundamentals of Church Law" sets out the main issues of church law in accordance with the test program for church law in the legal commission of the Imperial Yuriev University. The main sources of church law, relations between the state and the Church, the structure of the Church, church authorities and administration, church property law are highlighted. The structure of the Roman Catholic Church, the Protestant and the Armenian Church is also touched upon.
