Pavel Dmitrievich Korin (1892-1967), People's Artist of the USSR, full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, in 1931-1932, at the beginning of his career, spent several months in Italy, studying classical art. This publication is based on the artist's letters to his wife, P.T.Korina. In them, he not only describes in detail the monuments of architecture and painting, often accompanying his story with sketches, but also reports on his own creative plans. The edition of the letters includes introductory articles by A.A. Kuleshov and memoirs by P.T. Korina.
