The last major work written by the historian Georgy Vladimirovich Vernadsky (1887-1973) was `Essays on Russian historiography`, published in Russian in `Notes of the Russian Academic Group in the USA` (1971-1975) and separately in English under the title `Russian historiography`, which became the title of the book offered to readers, which traces the development of historiography in Russia from the 18th century to the `defeat of Russian historical science` in 1920. This study by G.V. Vernadsky is still the only work where a professional historian gives a story about the ideas that influenced Russian historical science, and characterizes the work of leading Russian historians, reveals the history of the study of world history, archeology and art history.
