"The Last Barrier" is one of the best novels by Dick Francis, in which the writer's signature style is clearly manifested : reporter's approach to the description of events, filigree study of the plot and characters, excellent knowledge of the topic. Here, the criminal background is nothing more than a frame for the ideas of humanism, romance, the confrontation between good and evil, nobility and meanness.
