Description A quarter of a century separates the novel "Diplomat" from the novel "Mountains and Weapons". For the first of these novels, James Aldridge was awarded the Gold Medal of Peace in 1953. The events of the novel "The Diplomat" take place in the spring of 1946. Location - London, Moscow, Tehran and the mountainous regions of Iranian Kurdistan and Iranian Azerbaijan. The protagonist of both novels is the talented paleontologist Ivr MacGregor, who was born and spent almost his entire life in Iran, where his father, a famous geologist, did a great job of compiling geological maps and identifying the oil wealth of Iran.
