The book is dedicated to the art treasures of different eras, peoples and geographical regions located in Moscow. It contains information about many masterpieces, sometimes dissimilar to each other either in style, or in origin, or in original purpose. Some of them were created in Moscow and are still in the places intended for them; others moved to Moscow due to the laws of Russian history; still others ended up in Moscow due to random coincidences.

"Treasures of Moscow" tells about the monuments of art of the State Armory, the Assumption, Archangel and Annunciation Cathedrals of the Kremlin, the Museum of Ancient Russian Art and Life of the 17th Century, the Andrei Rublev Museum of Ancient Russian Art, the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve, the Ostankino Palace Museum art of serfs, the State Museum of Ceramics and the "Kuskovo Estate of the 18th Century", the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Museum of Oriental Art.
