The October Revolution, as Soviet ideologists rightly claim, opened a new era and was a phenomenon unknown in the past. Heated debates continue regarding the assessment of October: some believe that it was a “step forward”, others - a “step back”, others - a “step in place”. Everyone agrees that October 25, 1917 should be marked in red on the calendar: for the first time a revolution was carried out, the goal of which was not only the seizure of power, the “state machine” in Lenin’s words, but the creation of an ideal society, a political, economic and social system previously untested by mankind. The October Revolution was carried out with the aim of implementing the Project - a plan to achieve the Goal. Having seized power, the designers already knew that the goal could only be achieved if the New Man was built. They already knew how to do it: “Proletarian coercion in all its forms, starting from executions... is a method of developing a communist man from the human material of the capitalist era.”
