Расизм в языке образования

This collection is the result of the interdisciplinary conference "Racist Discourse in Russian Education", held in April 2004 in St. Petersburg under the auspices of the Center for Independent Sociological Research. The assembled sociologists, ethnologists, linguists, and human rights activists continued the discussion of the role of elite discourses in the reproduction of modern racism, which began at the previous conference “Social Sciences, Racist Discourse and Discriminatory Practices” (December, 2001). The speakers focused on school and university textbooks in social sciences and their contribution to the (re)production of language that creates the preconditions for discriminatory practices and violence. The collection contains the texts of the reports and the most important and interesting excerpts from the discussion.
