Memoirs of a former Soviet intelligence officer, commander of an intelligence network in Europe during the Second World War "Red Chapel". People of fourteen nationalities worked in this network. Many of them died in the dungeons of the Gestapo. Trapper wrote a book about them and about his life. By his convictions, Trapper was a communist. But, despite this, his memoirs are distinguished by true humanism and faith in humanity. This is not just a story about yourself. It is also a monument to those with whom he worked. The fate of the Trapper itself was unsuccessful. After the war, he returned to Moscow and was immediately arrested. Trapper got out of prison only during the Khrushchev thaw. After his release, he went to Poland, to his homeland. But his life did not work out in Poland either. The rising wave of anti-Semitism forced Trapper to decide to emigrate to Israel. However, the Polish government did not give him permission to leave. It was only thanks to the intervention of the world community that he was able to leave. Trapper's name was hushed up in the USSR. The official authorities could not admit that one of the most remarkable heroes of the struggle against fascism was a Jew. Trapper's book was first published in France, then was translated into many languages of the world. First published in Russian.
