Since the publication of S.P. Postnikov's book "Russians in Prague" in 1928, the book "The House in Exile" offered to the reader has been the most complete illustrated edition that tells about the life and work of the Russian intelligentsia in Czechoslovakia - one of the world's largest centers of Russian emigration . The fates of prominent personalities from the spheres of politics, science, culture and public life, including the true pages of the post-war tragedy of these people, as well as the story of their descendants, form the basis of the book. Some essays were previously published in separate scientific collections or journals, many of them were translated from Czech into Russian especially for this book, a significant part of the materials is published for the first time.
