Маршалы Сталина. От Буденного до Булганина

The author dwells on the biography of several marshals. Voroshilov, Tukhachevsky, Kulik, Zhukov, Rokossovsky, Beria. Why do we call these people Stalin's marshals? Because nothing happened without the initiative or approval of the “father of nations.” The book is devoted to a still little-studied problem - the role and place of the highest military elite in Stalin’s politics. Although all the heroes of the book, without exception, held the highest military rank, readers are less likely to see them at the command post during the battle or bending over the map when planning an operation. The author is interested in Stalin's marshals in a different form - as active characters and at the same time objects of politics in the state created by Stalin and which retained the features of totalitarianism after the death of the leader. The choice of personalities is not accidental: the fate of each of the marshals reflected the Stalin era in its own way - with all its victories and defeats, ups and downs of the human spirit and crimes.
