The publication of the book by N. A. Sokolov "The Murder of the Royal Family", carried out in 1925 by Prince N. Orlov, soon became a bibliographic rarity. In 1969, the head of the Russian Imperial Union-Order N. Sakhnovsky reprinted the book in Buenos Aires. Investigation into the murder of Emperor Nicholas II and his entire family, carried out by Nikolai Alekseevich Sokolov, a forensic investigator for the most important cases. Nikolai Alekseevich Sokolov (1882-1924) - investigator for especially important cases of the Omsk District Court, who investigated the murder of the Royal Family. In February 1919, he was appointed by the Supreme Ruler of Russia Alexander Kolchak to conduct an investigation into the cases of the murder of the Royal Family and the Alapaevsky martyrs. N. Sokolov continued to work during the retreat of the whites from Yekaterinburg to Harbin. In 1920 he emigrated from Russia to France. Part of the materials of the investigation was published by Sokolov in 1924 in French. In 1924 he was found dead in the garden of the house where he lived. The Russian Imperial Union-Order is a monarchist organization created by Russian emigrants in 1929 in Paris.
