The book is dedicated to all aspects of working with characters in Maya. You will learn all the methods of character modeling: polygonal modeling, using subdivision surfaces, NURBS modeling, applying patches, etc. Numerous and detailed examples will help you learn how to quickly set a skeleton for a character and assign the correct surface deformation, how to animate a face and perform non-linear animation. The book also describes a lot of techniques that are not directly related to character animation, but will be useful to any user of Maya: rendering and mapping tricks, working with textures in Deep Paint 3D, etc. The book is intended for readers with little experience with Maya or other 3D package.
