Yuri Mamleev (1931–2015) - writer, philosopher. The creator of the movement of metaphysical realism in Russian prose. Winner of the Andrei Bely Prize. The book “Voice from Nothing” contains stories written in the 1970s and 1980s.
Dorothea Shemyakina (1964–2018) - painter, book graphic artist, sculptor, jeweler. She illustrated the novels “The Golem” by Gustav Meyrink and “The Plague” by Albert Camus, and the collection of Spanish poetry “Tauromachie”. Hyperrealistic scenes of communal life in illustrations for Mamleev’s stories are compared with the merciless grotesquery of the late Goya.
