Alexander Ivanovich Klizovsky (1874-1942) - colonel of the Russian Imperial Army, writer, theosophist, favorite student of E. Blavatsky, for some time headed the Roerich Society in Riga. The brochure was published in response to the anti-Masonic book by V.F. Ivanov “Orthodox world and Freemasonry”. In an apology for Freemasonry, the author brings us to the origins of the secret organization, gives it an objective description, trying to avoid “demonization.” On the day the war began, June 22, 1941, Klizovsky was arrested as a former officer of the tsarist army and sent to prison; shot in 1942. Rehabilitated only in 1989 due to lack of evidence of a crime; the second edition of his brochure was published in Riga only in 1990. First edition. Very rare.
