Included in the “Khadzhibey” trilogy, in which the writer shows the history of the city of Odessa.
The novel “Stone Sea” is the third and final book of the trilogy. However, despite this, it was conceived and written not only as a continuation of two books, but as a completely independent work. The first part of the book is devoted to the exploits of the Black Sea militia during the Patriotic War of 1812. The second part of the novel depicts events related to the activities of the Decembrists in the south of Ukraine, as well as the history of the secret society of Greek patriots “Filiki Eteria”, known under the abbreviated name “Geteria”. In the second part of the novel, the author talks about the wonderful people who lived in those days in the south of Ukraine: about the young Pushkin, Sergei Muravyov-Apostol, Pestel, Raevsky, who left a good memory in the history of our Fatherland. The author also shows lesser-known, but remarkable people of the last century who lived in Odessa - Viktor Petrovich Skarzhinsky and Nikolai Alexandrovich Raiko.
