History of the conquest of the North Pole.

The dispute for the right to be called its discoverer has been going on for many decades. A lot was written about the priority in the conquest of the pole by F. Cook and R. Peary in the press, this issue was discussed by a special commission of the US Congress, a number of historical studies are devoted to it.

The author conducted a comprehensive analysis of documents and materials directly related to the history of the discovery of the North Pole and the biographical data of both travelers, and once again tries to solve the question: “Who was the first to reach the northern peak of the world? Who owns the honorary title of discoverer of the North Pole? Were F. Cook and R. Pirie at the North Pole at all?
