Northern War. 1700-1721:
The military leadership of Peter I
The book about the Northern War describes the course of this war, showing the military leadership of Peter I in specific operations and new operational-tactical principles of warfare developed by him. It tells about the heroic partisan struggle of the Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples against the Swedish invaders. The book outlines a number of other issues related to the organization, training and education of the Russian regular army, which under Peter I became one of the most powerful armies in Europe. This work is the result of the author's long research on this topic. The material for the study was documents about the Northern War published in the 18th, 19th centuries and at the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, new archival materials from the Central Military Historical Archive were used. According to the State Archive of the Feudal-Serf Era (GAFKE), two funds were used - the cabinet files of Peter I and the files of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
